eClinicalWorks is one of the largest privately held EHR companies in the country, and its platform reflects decades of accumulation: there is a feature for nearly everything, from population health management to chronic care tracking to the PRISMA search engine that pulls patient records from outside sources into one view. That breadth is the appeal for large and multi-specialty groups, and the interoperability investment is real. The common complaint is that all those features live in an interface that takes patience to learn and never quite gets out of your way. Big organizations with training resources absorb that cost easily. A three-person practice usually should not sign up for it.
